Epilogue

The third and last issue of the MP is planned to come out in the first half of May 2015. The date of publication will be specified on our Facebook page, just like the deadline for sending in contributions for the Spring MP. Until then we will continue to post (even if on an irregular basis) on our online database and update our Facebook page with noteworthy English language events, including special guest lectures and readings both at and outside the university. Until then, may the muse be with you!

Epilogue

The winter MP will come out in January. Until then, our online database will be updated with articles that did not make it into the issue you are holding in your hands and notifications on promising events will be posted on our Facebook page. The general deadline for all contributions to be sent in is December the 1st – of course, this date may change and so please keep an eye on our Fb page for updates. As ever, all articles are to be sent to musethepaper@volny.cz and we mainly publish the work of people doing Anglophone Studies at the Faculty of Arts, CU. Yet we are open to receiving creative writing by exchange students, professors, the English language expat community etc. – all with the goal of forming a highly readable issue that will be again available for purchase in January and then April.

Epilogue to the June MP

Jack Kerouac writes in On the Road that “The best teacher is experience and not through someone's distorted point of view”. The summer holidays are the ideal time to experience new adventures, to travel, to learn new languages (or to practice the one you have acquired during the academic year), to catch up with reading, to do research for one’s BA thesis... In short, the options and possibilities are infinite. The MP will still function during the summer, publishing articles written on the road or anywhere else. We will definitely keep our readers updated through our Facebook page – about events or newly published articles. The next proper issue is planned to come out in October and it will include the best works we have published during the summer or the year in general. The “best of” issue is something we want to publish regularly and we will keep you updated. Until then, I on behalf of the M-team wish you good luck with exams and a summer full of inspiration and amusement - and cheers for supporting us so much this academic year!

Epilogue to the May MP

The next weeks will doubtless be very busy and it is more likely that we all will be occupied more with end-of-year responsibilities than with creative writing. Even so, the June MP will be the grand finale of the 2013/2014 academic year and despite the stresses of the exam period, I hope that there will be more than a few contributions sent to musethepaper@volny.cz by the date announced on our Facebook page. If you have not already given us a “like” there, make sure you do – we give regular updates on English-language events in Prague, as well as have introduced “Flashback Mondays” that bring forward past articles to the attention of both our new and long-term readers.

Epilogue to the April MP

The coming weeks promise a series of events that we will inform you of through our online page at facebook.com/musethepaper at least one day prior. I hope to receive articles not only about these events, but also perhaps an account or two of the inner worlds of our readers in poem or short story form. The decision is yours, still I hope the May Musepaper will be at least half as various as this one in terms of diversity of topics and genres – the deadline will be (as always) announced online.

Epilogue to the March MP

This issue was a busy one, but also quite limited only to travel reports. However, I hope the April Musepaper to be more diverse in themes, though still as true to its genres of poetry, short story and interview as this one has been. I can already promise an interview with Ken Nash who will introduce the annual Prague Microfestival, for example. And as always, the issue will consist of the best contributions we have been given by our readers and course friends – send yours by the deadline that will be announced on our Facebook page to musethepaper@volny.cz. The M-Team is looking forward to them and so am I.

Epilogue

It’s over! The exam period and the MP double-issue are over! Let’s celebrate the first by putting together the summer time-table and the latter with information on the next issue. The March MP will be a single-issue again and as always, all contributions are to be sent to musethepaper@volny.cz and the deadline, links to English-language events in Prague and more are on our Facebook page, facebook.com/musethepaper. And since there is no reason to stress anymore, I hope to receive more than a few written creations by the deadline that will be announced online on the listed websites.

Epilogue

The November issue is by far the most successful in terms of published articles written by other years than my own; Jim Stein is doing his Masters in Anglophone Studies and Johana Lajdová and Magdalena Schlindenbuchová are both in their first year. The MP is moving towards greater diversity of themes and contributors, which is very exciting.

With Christmas and (unfortunately also) the exam period creeping closer, the December MP may be published on a later date. Despite the stress and obligations both of these events bring and pose, I hope there will still be literary creations produced during this period. As usual, information like the December MP contribution deadline and English-language events are published on our Facebook page: facebook.com/musethepaper.

Epilogue to the June Musepaper

It can be said that the end of the school year is like the 31st of December – it is a turning point when one should reflect on successes and failures and size up areas for improvement.

There have been four issues of the Musepaper so far, and gradually it has developed into its current form. The magazine is more selective in its officially published contributions, it indeed is beginning to give the readers an idea about English-speaking Prague (events taking place; interesting personages) and hopefully it is a positive motivation for all to write creatively in English. Were there any failures? Yes, such as the general lack of enthusiasm and support for the project and also the expected missing of deadlines…

While the Musepaper will take now a 3 months’ break from publishing PDF issues, the website will not. It will continue to be updated with contributions you send in during the summer. What could do? Short stories/vignettes; poems; travel articles; reviews of a book/movie/music or film festival… There are no deadlines; it is all up to you to send your creations whenever you want to elijahwoodrox@gmail.com. I am looking forward to receiving them.

May the summer bring you all the favour of muses or at least a fair amount of amusement!
